Whether we are staying local or traveling out of state, it’s important to make sure our driver’s license or ID is renewed and up to date.
The good news is that it’s easier than ever to renew your driver’s license or ID because the Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL) has expanded itsonline services.
You don’t need an appointment to renew your ID online. If you are eligible to renew online, you can do so one full year before your current ID or license expires. Not everyone is eligible to renew online. For example, you’ll need to make an appointment for an in-person visit if your license has been expired for more than 30 days, if you do not have a credit card or bank information, if you want to have a new picture taken, or if you want to get an Enhanced Driver License or Enhanced ID for the first time.
