Joint Information Center Activated for COVID-19 Response

Seattle (March 16, 2020) – The City of Seattle activated its Joint Information Center at 9 a.m. to support operations related to the COVID-19 response. Public information officers are available to answer media inquiries at (206) 233-5072.

The City remains in close coordination with the Centers for Disease Control, the Washington State Department of Health, and Public Health – Seattle & King County, and is following the guidance of these agencies, which are leading on the COVID-19 response. Authorities continue to emphasize that everyone take steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19. This is a quickly evolving situation; please follow public health for the most up to date information.

All residents and those who work or travel through the City of Seattle can sign-up for AlertSeattle, the City’s official emergency notification system. Through AlertSeattle, the City can send real-time and customized notifications via text, email, voice message and social media during emergencies to include significant public health updates.
