About the event
Join us for our FREE semi-annual KCFCA Diversity and Recruitment Workshop. This event is geared toward members of the BIPOC community, women, limited-English-speaking community members, and/or those with no prior fire service experience who would like to learn more about a rewarding career in Fire and EMS.
The goal of this event is to provide valuable information, mentorship, and connections to help individuals start a successful career in public service.
The event will feature five breakout classes that help prepare individuals for key elements of joining the fire service:
- Written firefighter exam prep
- Oral board interview prep
- Wellness and fitness prep
- Medical, psych, and background check prep
- *NEW* A Day in the Life of a Firefighter
The day will also feature a diverse group of speakers from around the region to help attendees better understand why they chose a rewarding career in fire and life safety and what that journey was like from their unique perspective.
There will be a delicious, free catered breakfast and lunch, sponsored by King County EMS during the event, and attendees will have a great opportunity throughout the event to meet with local agencies and learn more about local programs.
