STOCKTON POLICE CHIEF CANDIDATE TOWN HALL

Community Opportunity to Meet and Hear from Finalist Candidates

STOCKTON, Calif. – On Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 5:30 p.m., the City of Stockton will host a Town Hall Meeting with the finalist candidates for Stockton’s next Chief of Police. The Stockton Police Chief Candidate Town Hall will be held at the Bob Hope Theatre, 242

E. Main St. All members of the community are welcome and encouraged to attend.

A panel discussion with the candidates will be moderated by Gene Acevedo, who is a community leader focused on business development, government service, and business education. Mr. Acevedo will present a series of questions to all candidates, so members of the community will be able to hear responses from each candidate to the same questions. The questions will reflect the various themes that have been garnered from community, police department and City elected leadership input. The candidates will be available at a reception, immediately following the moderated session, to meet and interact with members of the community.

The Stockton Police Chief Candidate Town Hall follows a process that began in January and included a search for candidates with a nationwide leader in executive recruitment, a community survey, a survey of Stockton Police Department employees, and

interviews with over 30 community leaders.  Earlier in the day on April 20, the finalists will be interviewed by multiple panels consisting of City staff, leaders in law enforcement, and members of the City Manager Review Board.

Additional information about the Town Hall, including photos and biographical information for each finalist candidate, is available on the City of Stockton website at www.stocktonca.gov/TownHall.

Questions common to all candidates will be asked during the moderated session. Please submit suggestions for questions by 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2022, by calling (209) 937-8827 or email Connie.Cochran@stocktonca.gov. Candidates will be available for individual questions during the reception following.
