Official Results are Certified for the May 4th Cupertino Union School District Special Mail-Ballot Election

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIF. – County of Santa Clara Registrar of Voters Shannon Bushey certified the results of the May 4th Cupertino Union School District Special Mail-Ballot Election today.

“It is always an honor to certify the results of any election big or small.” Bushey said. “The Registrar of Voters’ staff worked diligently to ensure a fair, inclusive, accurate, and transparent Special Election for the residents in the Cupertino Union School District.”  

The final turnout for this Special Election totaled 25,512 ballots cast, representing 32.81% of the 77,750 registered voters. This ballot measure needed 2/3 votes or 66.67% to pass.

The Official Canvass was conducted by the Registrar of Voters (ROV) office to complete the official counting of all qualified Vote by Mail ballots. Any discrepancies were resolved through canvassing of official election materials and the voting system. A manual tally of 1% of the total number of precincts in this contest was also conducted as part of the Canvass.
