FRESNO COUNTY, CA – After 14 years of dedicated service to Fresno County, Fresno
Housing announces the resignation of CEO, Preston Prince, effective March 31, During his tenure as CEO, Prince was instrumental in creating partnerships with public and private agencies, and increasing the level of awareness of the role stable housing plays for low-income families. He has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to creating healthy neighborhoods throughout Fresno County and improving educational, health and wellness outcomes for residents.
Prince leaves Fresno Housing in a strong position for continued dedication to its mission; to create and sustain vibrant communities to nearly 50,000 Fresno Housing residents. “I can say with the utmost confidence that the Boards of Commissioners and leadership team at Fresno Housing will continue without hesitation the important work around resident services, homelessness, sustaining neighborhoods of opportunity, real-estate
development and so much more,” says Cary Catalano, Fresno Housing Board of Commissioners, County Chair. According to Prince himself, “The most difficult part of this decision is moving away from such a highly innovative and amazing work team.”
“It is bittersweet to learn that Mr. Prince will be leaving Fresno,” said Adrian Jones, Fresno Housing Board of Commissioners, City Chair. “We know that his success at Fresno Housing has resulted in national recognition within the housing industry. He is a leader who always kept his commitment to the residents we serve as his highest priority, he has a lot to offer any community but will truly be missed here.”
Prince plans to remain with Fresno Housing through the end of March. Over the next couple of weeks, the Boards of Commissioners will work with the leadership team to ensure a smooth transition, possibly naming an Interim CEO, and outlining a community-oriented process to successfully fill the CEO position.
On Thursday, February 4, 2021, the Santa Clara County Housing Authority approved Prince’s contract to begin as Executive Director, effective April 30, 2021.
