Stockton Fire Department Recognizes Fire Prevention Week

Fire Prevention Week is October 3 – 9, 2021

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Stockton Fire Department is recognizing Fire Prevention Week, which began October 3, 2021, and ends on October 9, 2021. The National Fire Prevention Association theme this week is “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety™,” associated with both fire and carbon monoxide detectors. The Stockton Fire Department is partnering with the American Red Cross and other local businesses to talk about fire safety with the community.

“Fire Prevention Week is recognized annually,” said Fire Marshal James Klein. “Now, more than ever, it is important to have conversations with our children about fire safety in and outside of the home. With families currently spending more time at home, now is the time to create a family home safety action plan. If you hear a beep, get out quickly. If you hear a chirp, the battery or device needs attention.”

The Stockton Fire Department and the Red Cross will be talking about fire safety and handing out free smoke detectors at the following locations this week. The Red Cross will also install smoke detectors if needed.

  • October 4, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. – Rancho San Miguel, 1409 S. Airport Way
  • October 5, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. – Home Depot, 5010 Feather River Dr.
  • October 7, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. – Food 4 Less, 3434 S. Manthey Rd.

October 9, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. – Lowes, 10342 Trinity Parkway
