SacRT Unveils the 2023 Holiday Bus Celebrating 50 Years of Service
Free rides from December 1 through January 2

SACRAMENTO, CA – The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) is thrilled to announce the unveiling of the 2023 Holiday Bus, celebrating 50 years of dedicated service to the Sacramento region. Media members are invited to attend this festive event, where the Holiday Bus will be revealed.

This year, SacRT’s colorful 40-foot Holiday Bus pays tribute to 50 years of service. As a special way of thanking customers and the community, the Holiday Bus is free to ride and travel on different routes throughout the Sacramento region spreading joy from Friday, December 1, 2023, through Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

SacRT is the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) Outstanding Public Transportation System of the Year award recipient in North America for accomplishment and innovations in public transportation, the 2022 and 2019 national TSA Gold Standard Security Award recipient for the highest standard of excellence, and the 2021 and 2020 national APTA Rail Safety Gold Award recipient for its multi-faceted and innovative approach to reducing crime and fare evasion. SacRT operates approximately 82 bus routes (fixed-route, dial-a-ride, and micro transit); 43 miles of light rail serving 53 stations; and ADA paratransit services all within a 440-square mile service area throughout Sacramento County, which includes service in the cities of Sacramento, Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, Folsom, and Rancho Cordova.
