If you have questions about voting or elections, you can call one of the Secretary of State’s toll-free Voter Hotlines. Assistance is provided in ten languages.
- The last day to register to vote for the November 5, 2024, General Election is October 21, 2024.
- All California active registered voters will receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the November 5, 2024, General Election.
- Your county elections office will begin mailing ballots by October 7, 2024.
- Ballot drop-off locations open on October 8, 2024.
- Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned by mail, at a drop-off location, or your county elections office.
- Vote centers open for early in-person voting in all Voter’s Choice Act counties beginning on October 26, 2024.
- Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by November 12, 2024.
Some counties offer early voting at a few locations before Election Day.

Vote by Mail
To vote by mail, apply to have an absentee ballot mailed to you. You do not need to be registered to apply.
To request an absentee ballot for 2024 elections, wait for the online absentee application to become available. You can also use one of downloadable applications available at Minnesota Secretary Of State – Vote early by mail. Return your completed absentee application to your county election office by mail, fax or email.
Early Voting
You can vote early with an absentee ballot at your local elections office. If you are not registered, you can do so in person if you show proof of residence.

Absentee Voting
You may apply for an absentee ballot in any of the following ways:
- By going in-person to your local county board of elections
- By designating another person to deliver your application in-person to your local county board of elections and receive your ballot

Early voting begins 10 days before the election and continues through two days before the election (not voting the day before Election Day).

Mail-in Voting
If you are registered to vote in Washington, there is no need to request a ballot. Confirm your registration at VoteWA.gov.
Your ballot materials are mailed to the address where you’re registered to vote. You can return your ballot at an official drop box or by mail, no stamp needed. Accessible voting is available through your local elections office or voting center until election day, 8 p.m.

Chinese for Affirmative Action is excited to announce the launch of PiYaoBa which means “Let’s Fact-Check It.” PiYaoBa is the first Chinese language fact-check website to counter the spread of right-wing disinformation, systematically monitor and document disinformation, and track key actors and narratives across multiple platforms. These include YouTube, Twitter, and WeChat, a Chinese mobile app with 3.8 million users in the United States.
