Ekin Cheng seldom makes headlines with his low-profile personality. Therefore, when he announced his return last November at the Hong Kong Coliseum with a series of nine shows at the “Here & Now 2022 Ekin Cheng Concert”, his fans rushed to support, and tickets were sold out in an instant.
Ekin Cheng, nicknamed “Noodle”, drew a big wave in the public eye when he made his debut in 1987 at a TV Drama “Young Beat” and the classic “Lemon Tea” TV commercial. He later joined as a host in the popular children program “430 Space Shuttle”. Cheng began to participate in TV drama performances in 1990 and became one of the most popular artists. In 1991, he joined BMG Records to develop his career in both music and TV drama.
Ekin Cheng later shifted his focus to film and singing. Among them, he is well-known for his role as Chen Honan in the Young and Dangerous movies directed by Andrew Lau. In addition, he was well-received in many movie series such as The Storm Riders, A Man Called Hero and Feel 100% that featured him as the key singer in many popular movie theme songs and commercial jingles.
