Canepa on COVID: Mass vax booster clinic opens as criteria set to lift indoor mask mandate

DALY CITY – San Mateo County Board of Supervisors President David J. Canepa made the following statement today about a mass vaccination clinic for booster shots being set up at the San Mateo County Event Center Thursday, Oct. 7 and news that Bay Area Health Officers will announce the criteria necessary to lift the region’s indoor mask requirements.

“Today marks a massive effort to get booster shots into as many arms as possible including for teachers who have resumed in-class learning,” Canepa said. “This effort begins as the region is about to learn from Bay Area health officers what the criteria will be to end the region’s indoor mask mandate. Although we are at a 94% vaccination rate in San Mateo County, our residents should be prepared to continue to mask-up indoors for several more weeks and I’m certainly prepared for that and happy to do.”

Supervisor Canepa and San Mateo County health officials will be at the Event Center at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 7 to respond to media questions and see the clinic in action.
