Asian Pacific Community Counseling (APCC) is a community-based, nonprofit tax-exempt agency with a mission to promote the well-being of individuals and families through culturally and linguistically relevant, relationship-based counseling, outreach, prevention, and education with an emphasis on Asian Pacific Islander communities. We provide services integrating a multilingual and multicultural approach. A nonprofit provder of culturally competent mental health and prevention services to Asian and Pacific Islanders of Sacramento County.

Asian Resources

Asian Resources, Inc. (ARI) is a non-profit community based organization established in 1980 dedicated to providing multiple social services needed in our community, empowering everyone we serve to become a vital part of our changing, diverse society.

With a focus on assisting job seekers throughout the Sacramento Region at all points along the employment continuum, Asian Resources provides one-on-one case management to guide our diverse clientele in their search for employment. Job seekers may also elect to serve themselves with the agency's job listings, computer resources, fax machines and phone lines to connect themselves with regional employers. For those not yet ready for employment, our staff will provide vocational training, English-as-a-Second Language classes, referrals to child care programs, etc.

My Sister's House

My Sister's House is the first and only non-profit organization to specifically identify and address the unique needs of women and children impacted by domestic violence in the Central Valley's highly diverse Asian and Pacific Islander community.

My Sister’s House offers: A 6-bed Safe Haven shelter for women and children; Culturally and linguistically appropriate domestic violence intervention services;Women at Work Program for domestic violence survivors of all backgrounds;New Beginnings women's learning and support group;Community outreach and education; and a 24-hour multilingual crisis hotline:916-428-3271

Opening Doors is dedicated to working with refugees, human trafficking victims, asylees, immigrants and underserved people to develop their social and economic skills, wellness, and personal and financial assets to successfully assimilate into society while respecting their cultural identity and individual goals.

Some of the services we provide include resettlement to refugees, asylees and human trafficking victims. We also provide health referrels and guidance to elders and the disabled; provide business and marketing training seminars to low-income families; assist immigrants in applying for immigration paperwork such as residency, citizenship and family reunification; provide microloans to refugees and loan packaging for low income people for the development of small businesses throughout the Sacramento area.

People Reaching Out

People Reaching Out was formed in 1981 by a group of concerned parents and community members in direct response to a lack of resources dealing with adolescent substance use and violence. Since its inception, People Reaching Out has developed and implemented programs based on scientific research and proven prevention strategies. Our mission is to create a safe, drug-free community for youth in the Sacramento metropolitan area through programs that will foster the development of positive self-esteem and opportunities for personal growth. We strive to be the organization most responsible for leading the Sacramento region to uphold a safe, drug-free community where young people dream big.

People Reaching Out programs include youth-to-youth mentoring, youth prevention education, youth led community coalitions, counseling for academic achievement, and parenting for prevention. People Reaching Out is partnered with five Sacramento area school districts including Elk Grove Unified, Sacramento City Unified, San Juan Unified, Woodland Joint Unified and Washington Unified. The organization serves more than 13,000 youth and families annually.

WeCARE Community-Based Breat Cancer Peer Navigator Program

The first few months after diagnosis can be one of the most traumatic periods in a cancer survivor's life. To help breast-cancer patients during this difficult time, UC Davis Cancer Center is pleased to announce the WeCARE Community-Based Breast Cancer Peer Navigator Project.
Peer navigators — all cancer survivors themselves — will serve as "cancer coaches" in providing one-to-one guidance and support to newly diagnosed patients. UC Davis will recruit, screen and train navigators who will then be teamed with patients receiving treatment at hospitals throughout the region.
