Take ACE to Jazz Festival & California's Great America

Spend the day enjoying Jazz, Salsa and even R&B tunes at the Jazz
Festival or choose thrills and family fun at California's Great America.
When you take the train, there's no hassles with driving, traffic and
parking- just sit back and relax.
Tickets for the Jazz Festival event package are $22/person and include
round-trip rail fare and all-day Saturday admission into the San Jose
Jazz Festival.
The California's Great America event is $50/person which includes:
round-trip train fare, all-day admission into Great America,
all-you-can-eat hot dog and chili buffet lunch in the park's private
picnic area.
Trains for both events leave Stockton at 9:30 am on Saturday, August 14
and arrive at Great America at 11:18 am and San Jose at 11:30 am.
There are two options offered for the return trip:
1. depart San Jose and Great America Saturday evening, or
2. Stay overnight and take a train back to Stockton train leaving San
Jose and Great America Sunday afternoon on August 15.

Enjoy also a late night beer garden at Janet Leigh Plaza and extended
Farmers Market at DeCarli Square.
The Art Walk is held the 2nd Friday of the month June-August. It is a
self-guided tour featuring art work in every medium; from photography to
sculpture, from fine art to live music and spoken word. Downtown
businesses become “galleries” hosting local artists. All demonstrations
and exhibits are free of charge.
WHO WILL BE STOCKTON'S 2010 CHAMP?
Help create the contender's challenge, then test your artistic skills,
vote for your favorite artist, bid for one of the masterpieces that will
be created before your eyes at this exciting event.
THE CHALLENGE: Involve any 2 characters from the CHALLENGE LIST in a
scene at the downtown Stockton waterfront. Artists will have 2 hours to
create a finished work. $100 First Prize. Art will be sold by silent
auction to support JLI Academy.
Challenge List characters will be selected from suggestions submitted by
August 1. Submit your character suggestions at JLI's booth at the July 9
Art Walk or by using the online form available at www.JLIacademy.com.
CHALLENGE LIST will be posted at JLI's website on August 2.
The ART BATTLE is open to all artists willing to accept the challenge.
Winners will be selected by public voting during the event. Your opinion
counts, don't miss this chance to pick a winner, and bid on original art
at the silent auction.
Rules and Artist's registration forms are available at
www.JLIacademy.org. Registration is $10 and includes a T-shirt. Walk-up
registrations are welcome (up to 5:25 on August 13). Pre-registrations
accepted by mail and at JLI's booth at the July 9 Art Walk.

Downtown Lodi Farmers Market & Festival

Downtown Lodi Business Partnership hosts The Downtown Certified Farmers
Market. The family friendly market is held every Thursday evening
beginning in June throughout the end of September. Over 25 certified
farmers offer an array of fresh produce, wine and flowers. 50 homemade
and commercial arts and craft vendors line the streets of downtown
attracting over 5,000 attendees each week. An upscale beer and wine
garden which showcases local breweries and wineries is located adjacent
from the entertainment stage. The stage hosts live music performed by
local bands, along with dance performances, comedy acts and
competitions. The entertainment also includes theme nights such as
Hawaiian, Mardi Gras, Country Western and Patriotic, where there are
free giveaways, contests and family fun. The Food Court accompanies the
market offering a wide variety of choices including hot dogs, BBQ,
salads, Philippine cuisine, snow cones, smoothies and more. A Kids Zone
invites kids of all ages to jump in bouncing houses, get their face
painted and interact with clowns, balloon artists and animals. The
Farmers Market is Lodi�s summer signature event that has something for
everyone!
