Crossings TV Marketing Internship

 KBTV Crossings TV is seeking a marketing intern to experience hands-on marketing operations and provide production assistance at a television station. This internship is designed for students who have a strong interest in marketing, broadcasting, and public relations as well as a passion to work with the ethnic communities. At the end of the internship term, the intern will have gained invaluable knowledge about the world of ethnic broadcasting and how marketing, production, and sales function in the media industry.

The internship is based in Sacramento and will receive direct supervision from the Marketing Director. There are no definite hours but the intern must make all weekly meetings and must be flexible to work during nights and weekends as needed. A minimum of 15 hours a week for a minimum of six weeks is required to receive credit for the internship.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

-          Go through production training on how to operate a professional HD camera, learn proper lighting techniques and audio levels

-          Assist marketing and sales with production by operating the camera for interviews and film shooting

-          Provide assistance to the Marketing director in taping and filming footages during any Crossings TV activities

-          Attend weekly meetings with the Marketing director to discuss marketing plans and strategies

-          Assist in promoting programming to ethnic community leaders, community organizations, and ethnic media

-          Assist the marketing event staff team with local cultural events in the ethnic communities

-          Provide administrative support as needed by the Marketing Director and the Marketing Coordinator

 Qualifications:

-          Must make a commitment to the internship to receive internship credits

-          Willing to learn how to use a camera to video tape footages

-          Must be registered through Asian Resources

-          Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

-          Graphic software such as Photoshop and Illustrator a major plus

-          Excellent communication and presentation skills

-          Professional and punctual

-          Must have dependable transportation

-          Bilingual (Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Russian, Hindi, Punjabi, and Hmong) a major plus
